Garry Winder NEC Election Address

They said “it can’t get worse” it just did!

Chancellors Pay Cap of 2% with inflation at 4.2%
 Continuing Job Cuts
Large Scale Privatisations with plans to sell off core functions
Lean Processing and dumbing down of work
 Numerous Office Closures
 Greater pay inequalities
Failure to comply with equality legislation
Off-shoring of jobs in the private sector

As a member of the NEC for 4 years I am asking you to re-elect me to defend you against this unprecedented attack on public services and our members in the private sector.
This NEC led the TU Movement on protecting public service pensions, and with your support secured victory. Now we must once again lead the TUC in facing up the government on the attack on jobs, pay and services.

Only a Democracy Alliance led NEC has the ability and determination to fight the employers’ agenda of cuts, cuts, cuts. Only this NEC has the reputation in the TU movement to persuade and lead other Public Sector Unions in the fight.

The alternative groups of candidates have no realistic, alternative policies, other than roll over and surrender.
I believe in a strong negotiating union which consults its members and ensures effective communication. On the NEC and as a member of the Finance Committee, I have ensured PCS is in a sound and strengthened financial position. This means that we have the money to campaign on the big issues and increase the number of negotiators so we can support you in the workplace and take forward the agenda you set at conference. We must also support struggling branches, encourage new reps, enable more young people, women, and those from ethnic minority backgrounds to become active in the union.

We have set out a clear negotiating, Parliamentary and political campaign on jobs and pay. I stand for election on this agenda as a PCS Democrat (- www.pcsdemocrats.org.uk -) and ask you to also vote for:
